i'm slightly flabbergasted
You got me a bit flabbergasted here. I feel some kind of attraction-repulsion about this song. The tunes are, from beginning to end, childish yet at the same time deeply thoughtful, simultaneously soothing and repulsive. That paradoxical element is, in itself, worth merit.
I don't know whether this is the product of somebody knowledgable in music theory who frantically wants to break its laws, or rather of some kid that started making music without any prior musical experience but has an extremely unusual natural feel for it. That's what crosses my mind with any of your songs. However, given the clearly thoughtful build-up of this song, it's probably the former.
The main theme (the omnipresent organ tune) wasn't something I found special. It's everything around it that struck me. The careful bleeps, the bridges/breakdowns in between the main loop, the background ambience. Actually, I believe the song would have been VERY interesting to listen to if the main theme was different.
Thanks for reviewing (especially with something with decent substance). Actually I've done theory up to grade 3 so I know a reasonable amount of stuff. Unfortunately for your taste the main theme was the first bit I thought of and is (in my mind) central to the piece so naturally I could not have this piece without the main theme.
YES! attraction repultion was what I was going for yay I achieved this. I made this quite a while ago before discovering the joys of newgrounds (Echoes of Dreams and The PaceMaker are my only new ones) and in that couple of months in my life I had this weird and wonderful ambient dark freakish sort of mania going on. This was part of the product.
Thanks again for the review!
its just to loud...
Yeah I see what you mean. I erased the set of this a while ago after I rendered it but I can still fix the problem. I will edit it soon. Thanks for the review.
