HAPPY MADNESS DAY!

After 5 long years of not entering Madness Day's audio contest, I'm back. This is the first song where I'm not RealFaction anymore, but JohnnyGuy. It's a spiritual reboot to the style I started making 14 years ago, when I started making music. This is directly inspired by Project Nexus' levels, and before, so I made it as if I was making a song for the game, since video game music has always been inspiration for my music.

QUICK UPDATE NOTE: Actually, this is going to be one of the songs off my new side project, Cursed Server.

The premise for the atmosphere, aside from the game, is painting the image of someone like Hank, looking at the city, recently put into ruins, the world just thrown into chaos, thinking how nice it was to be safe when we could go outside without worrying about dying, but those days are long gone, and now the fight for survival has begun. Also good for level music.

Does start a bit bleak and despairing but... after the first bridge it really picks up the grit! Can smell that madness. Good stuff. Getting real paragonX9 vibes at the end of it too, which is such a grand kick of intertwined nostalgia.

If there ever was someone I never expected to make a namechange it might've been you btw! Suitable new name somehow but still... the first was so iconic. Still the iconic icon at least.

JohnnyGuy responds:

That's the point, kinda. My vision for this was starting out seeing the destruction unfold, sorrowful feelings seeing what you once knew and loved getting destroyed, then transitioning into survival mode, fighting the evil that started it. Then, reflecting on memories of what once was. Thanks! :)

This is a really good one. I like the vibe alot in the intro part, it reminds me a bit of Tekken 4. That airy pad is really cool, and the trumpet part is a nice touch too. Great D&B in the heavy parts, on-par with Simple Sight for me, not to compare everything of yours to that. Instant favorite, nice job.

JohnnyGuy responds:

Thanks! I love the Tekken games! I grew up on those.

Love it! Killer stuff man! <3

JohnnyGuy responds:

Thanks!

Dude this is amazing. I love it!

JohnnyGuy responds:

Thanks!

I like this. Definitely getting the N64/Gamecube vibe, Time Attacks on a Platformer, or a Final Stage of a Shooter/Bullet-Hell. I like that it gets broken up with those airy synths every now and then, which definitely have a Menu Screen or Prep-Stage Vibe too it. Nice work !

JohnnyGuy responds:

Thanks! :)
