Neptunian Princess

Exotica a la 1950's-1960's. Our heroes have crash landed on Neptune, only to be greeted by beautiful women who insist on taking the travelers to the palace to meet their queen. The halls are ornate yet strange. They enter the great hall where the Neptunian Queen is lounging on a giant pillow. She claps twice, and her attendants offer to take the helmets and gear (including weapons) from the travelers. The queen insists they join her for a banquet in their honor. Despite her beauty and hospitality, something doesn't seem quite right. Behind the seductive sparkle in her eye is the glint of something else...is it the gleam of something sinister? Then again, maybe it's just a trick of the light from the Neptunian moon.

I love the scores from B-movies of the 50's-60's. It was such an interesting time of experimentation blending full orchestral works with jazz harmonies/sensibilities, and flirtation with instrumentation and colors from a myriad of non-euro cultures. The accuracy of the stylistic integration was often lacking, but what resulted was something completely new. While it's problematic to inaccurately depict cultures that actually exist, I love the idea of using these sounds to to create something based on complete fantasy such as a civilization under water, at the center of the earth, or on another planet. Reality these days can be a bit overbearing. Give me more kitsch escapism!

Those are some cool space-n-mystery vibes

I'm speechless

I feel like I should be sneaking around in the 1930s to this music. Wonderful Great job. Keep up the awesome. :)
