A song that sounds both morbid and wondrous at the same time, where you're amazed at what was achieved, that it exists at all, but can't help but feel dread thinking about its history.

Edit: Fixed the sub bass being out of tune.

I couldn't hear it very well with my previous equipment so I couldn't tell if the lower registers were tuned properly or not, and went by ear.

This is now fixed.

aaaa too good

Dude, just one question, How did you made this with LMMS? Great music btw

Geekygami responds:

Same way you'd do it in another DAW, some things are just named differently.
As it is I'm using peak controllers to sidechain instruments, I've got Loudmax set with LSP and a threshold of -0.3 DB and a dc offset remover on the Master.

The main instrument is sidechained to the snare and kick, and the kick is brought to just below 0 DB, the snare a tiny bit quieter and the hihat a tiny bit quieter still.

The rest is entirely ZynAddSubFX. When you understand the basics of sound design and understand its quirks it's one of the most versatile free synths around.
In the case of this track I didn't even use reverb.

The rest is just your basic mixing. Y'know, gain staging, cutting off freqs that don't contribute anything.

It's gotten better since 1.2, and there's a lot of stuff coming over in 1.3 as well

spooky

i love it. nice and chill. i always love dark sounding tracks.

I feel etherial
