many many different beats and breaks. all from scratch. i'm getting better at this. :)

Could be longer!

This is great man!

Ok man first let me say that this track is f*CKING cOOl!
Lets begin to review Inepty...
Nothing to say here,it could be a 10 but u used the always cool but too popular between DnB artists 4 notes background Rob D's "Clubbed to Death" style!
many variations and tons of drum loops ^_^
-Clarity:9 Everything is nice man,ah...yeah,the vocal sample hurted my ears for no evident reason :-(
-Effort:9 Yeah,like Paragon said u used drum loops...but i don't care 'bout it ^_^
If something is cool is cool!
(ehi Inepty i need an info...what's the name of the drum loops which join the melody at 00.50 sec?)

Ineptitude responds:

hey, thanks for the in depth review, zero. you are easily one of my favorite artists on here. i love your Immortal Reptile MK Remix.

the break you're talking about is a variation of the Firefight break. at 50s i started an 8 bar (20s) series of chops and remixes on it. i can send you the original break or the actual splices if you'd like them. i'm usually on AIM - Soccer4860.

in the meantime, for some other cool/crazy breaks, check out Detonate.Your.Soul and One Tasty Breakbeat Sandwich. The second, while less crazy, is my favorite of my DnB work so far. very fluid.

Hmmmm, niceeeeee :)

keep that style men

good shit

your hard kickin beats are the shit dawg

Ineptitude responds:

Ok, but very easy to remake :S

It sounds pretty good and all but the thing is that as a musician I know how easy this was to make...

Breaks you've used:
- Dinky Break (Scotty)
- Amen+Samurai link
- Amen
(Names can be different in other samplepacks)

- A Saw Bass with Phase FX...

- Some sort of Dist Guitar...

- Some Scratchy Voice FX ...

"It's too easy to remake this" (Which is not good)
The biggest magic are in the Breaks that were used.

- If you make your own beats instead of using
pre-made loops it'll get more Original Sound.
And it's much more fun to make beats by yourself im telling you...

- Try using more synths and lots of crazy FX...

-* Go download some DNB Mixes and listen to them for a while, See for yourself.. trust me...

Good job anyways... :)
Hope these tips will help you alot...

Ineptitude responds:

i'm quite happy to get a review from you. i consider you and dreamscaper to be the top of the line here.

but i do beg to differ with you astute observations on how incredibly easy this was to make, and, seeing as how i am the one who made it, i believe that i have the upper hand. i'm not a little thirteen year-old churning out premade samples and breaks.

you're exactly correct on the bass and synth, which are a crappy phase bass and filtered guitar with distortion. impressive. they suck, i know.

but the breaks, though they may have been differently named samples, were a LOT of work. each series differing at all from the original break was mixed entirely by myself. i prefer this to making my own beats entirely, which i can do as well, simply because it gives it a cooler sound when the cymbals and reverb that are already in the loop cut off and on in the rearrangement process of breaking them down. someone noted goldie below, and i think it corresponds somewhat.

regardless, thank you for your tips and review. :)
