Definiately one of the most unique songs I ever made. It's a buildup (again) without drums, but with bass, mallets, synths, and not to forget, pads. I tried to make something done quickly but successfully. The success part is up to you to determine, but I must say it worked quite well. I was banned from the computer because I was using it too much, but now I am finally allowed again, so here's another song. (For those who don't know: Tephra is the debris (like ashes and gasses) that are spewed by a volcano.)

BPM: 157

Genre: Classical

Instruments: Pads, Choirs, Chronimum, Bass, Mallets, Synths

Finished on: May 1 2020

Cool song with a very tense buildup. I am a big fan of this sort of music. However, the only little downside is that it's too short to be truly compelling, like in the sense that it's coming to an ultimate climax. But that doesn't even bother me. Good song!

Really nice

Happy to hear that!

There's a sense of urgency and doom here. I can almost see the ashes from a volcanic eruption consume everything in their path, and they are heading directly to me. I'd suggest remaking the ending so it either doesn't resolve (which can be compelling and inviting for you to build a part 2) or so it resolves in a bigger way than what you've currently done. Going quietly, IMO, makes the song anticlimactic and the sense of dread described before builds up to less than it could.

I hope this helps. :)

BlighterProductions responds:

You are quite right about the end. It’s good that you also name the weaker points of this song, and any type of helpful comment is welcome. Now, I must say that I am impressed that this song is powerful enough to inflict a sense of dread, but still just 80% satisfying. I am proud of it, and I really can appreciate a helpful comment. That page of yours, I might visit one day.
