Despite your misgivings, his compassion is sincere. He makes you're warmest memories grow stronger and richer. All the while, you are shocked to find your home and possessions are covered in a shroud of dust. The piles of mail, boxes, letters, greeting cards, family photos, trinkets, and mementos: when did they start consuming so much space? You'll sort that out later.

You invite Mr. Kipple for a drink in your lounge. He gladly accepts. The warm summer evening relaxes both of you. Now, sink into your armchair. Hours of reverie coax away your fears. But wait. Remember that odd chore, belated invitation, forgotten task, and abandoned project? Mr. Kipple says they will keep. It strikes a chord.
