I wanted this theme to have both a futuristic and aggresive feel while still being fairly upbeat, like the situation is serious but not completely, so it's pretty fast paced and has an aggresive percussion pattern (which I'm very proud of). I had a pretty specific idea of the type of stage where I wanted this to sound: Some sort of toxic waste management plant with a good amount of toxic or electric themed enemies, and a toxic waste disposal robot (or as I like to call it, a trash can with some LED lights strapped to it) as the boss, I think I managed to convey the feeling of that hypothetical stage.

But honestly this also feels like the kind of stuff you'd hear in a racing game.
