Pretty cool. Super mysterious! Though I'd like some more changes in the song itself, like at 9:18
Canchula Overlook is an large overlook/parking lot located in the mountains near Miller's Creek. While it is notably tough to reach normally, it was still a popular location among the youth in the area. The first record of this ledge being used by mostly teens is from 1955. It gained a lot of popularity from that point onward as a teenage dating spot.
The biggest reason for this is the view that the overlook gave. Some of the reports from people that have gone there seem to all describe a breathtaking view that "connects them with space". Canchula Overlook has been known in the past 5 decades due to an incident in 1972. During a party, a teenager fell off the edge. He was never seen again. This incident got a lot of coverage throughout the state of North Carolina.
There are very few records of activity before 1955. Native Americans used the spot as a helpful landmark in travel, trade, and war when it was just a natural ledge. After the incident in 1972, There have been no events of importance to grace the overlook. Even teenage activity has dropped dramatically. The ledge's reputation had been severely tarnished. Very few people in Miller's Creek know about the view that gave it attention in the first place anymore.
