Facing an ambush by the kingdom's most powerful legion, a general uses dark magic to give his troops a fighting chance over surrender.

Those killed by this forbidden magic do not pass into afterlife, but are damned to eternal torture in a contorted purgatory.

They become The Never.

I like the crisp percussion at the beginning and the glitchy, industrial effects that start at around :10. The texture feels pretty minimal for most of the first minute, but the strings at :29 and the vocals at :58 help keep me engaged. I think the vocals even could’ve been more up-front in the mix. I didn’t expect to hear vocals in this piece somehow, but I think you did a good job of foreshadowing them with the audible exhale at :47. The transition at 1:44 was a little sudden, but I like the pensive piano riff there and more distinguishable vocals during the breakdown at 2:02. This piece really does tell a story, though. The foreboding mood and series of slow builds in the track are both engrossing, and I love the crisp percussion and frantic string lines too. I don’t think the final climax quite returned to the energy level of earlier in the piece, which gave the piece a sense of losing momentum. I also think the end comes on pretty suddenly. Still, I really like the sound design, atmosphere, harmonic content, and mixing overall. Keep up the good work, LunyAlex! ^^

Your vocals are great. I like the aggressive sound of the composition. I think this could maybe be condensed to 2:30 in length, but it's fine as is. You also have quite a novel style!

Great stuff! I was surprised to read somewhere that you were conscious of your vocals, I think they're awesome!

LunyAlex responds:

Thanks man! Vocals are a new thing for me. I'm reticent. But the encouragement works wonders, haha.

Oh man, this is some great stuff! As usual I am loving the story and atmosphere in your songs :D and that plotline could totally be turned into a story, honestly

Great work and good luck!!

LunyAlex responds:

Thank you! Glad the narrative worked, haha.
Good luck to you too!

HAHA the first part sounds like the beginning of Believer by Imagine Dragons!

But seriously, good stuff as usual. The first half sounds a little weird and takes a while to get going, but everything from 1:43 onward sounds good and cohesive.

LunyAlex responds:

Thanks for the feedback and review!
Very appreciated
