Here's my submission for the 2019 NGUAC Knock-Out Round.
The title comes from the 4 days, in total 4 hours I spent to make 4 minutes of music.
As for the music. As I listened to a lot of other submissions, I noticed there's quite a lot of uptempo synth music. Even though it's still a slow-ish song, I tried to include a lot more synths. Going a bit for that 80's sound.
So this was a total experiment for me. Hope you like it and please do let me know what you think!
Thanks

ChrisisD responds:

Sure thing! As long as you credit me, it’ll be fine! And do let me know when you have the finished work ;)

I like it a lot. Reminds me of Hollow Knight. It's simple yet sincere.

Fantastic! This piece is simple held, but fullfils its job to the listener! I would appreciate it if the composer did come up with what they thought about when they did this. But let me tell you what I felt during the listen.
The rhythm of the piano reminds me on the infinity, something going on forever. It gives me the feeling of my actions being slow, which reminds me on the space and it's physics. I imagined I was an astronaut outside of the base/station, having a clear view into the infinity of the universe, while I feel like even how much I try to move, I barely go forward.

So yeah basically, I can see this being part of a space movie, or even a documentation about it. :)

ChrisisD responds:

Thank you! As for what I thought when I was making this... I’m not going to tell. For the simple reason that music speaks for itself. IMO it doesn’t need a description. You are a perfect example of it, even though I didn’t say anything you got a whole picture of it by yourself. And that for me is the most important thing when I write something. So thank you for filling in what you thought when you heard this!

Okey, although I want more progression, but thats just my anti minimalism sentiments going... I do not belong in this world.

ChrisisD responds:

First of all thanks for your review. And about the progression... I purposefully kept it quite minimalist as you mentioned.

1:20 is my favourite part! Peaceful yet so uplifting. Regardless of tempo your piece has its own suspense and is constantly moving. It definitely would fit in some action / exploration scenes like... search for the loved one? or... flying under bright, starlit, night sky? I love how whole atmosphere is balancing between sadness and happiness.
Anyway it's a beautifully done piece and I want you to know that! :D

ChrisisD responds:

Thanks a lot for your kind words! Indeed I went for a mix between sadness and happiness. Your message is well received!
