Starts out as a nice ambient tune, its a bunch of nice sounds but doesn't seem to have any real emotion woven into the melody. It sounds more like an experiment just to see what sounds good together, but still needs to be given personality (which somehow I suspect it is.)
Then we get close to the end where you try to kick up into a different kind of song. Alright, sudden transition. Meeeeeh, it'll work I guess. It doesn't SUCK, just... Oh but what DOES SUCK is that horrible spike in volume that gets so bad it screws with the audio quality.
If you want a mellow ambient song, then stick with that. You've got some good sounds, build it some and get a "feel" to it. If you want a fight song, kind of the same, just got a bit more work to do. And don't do sudden volume changes... just don't. I'd rather not have my ears bleed.
I most definatley agree with the problem with the sudden spike of volume. However, the clash with pseudo-electric guitar I think gives the piece character. Hemiollla is actually written in Eb major and C# major at the same time.
Thanks for the review!
I like parts of it quite a bit but over all it's rather weak. I really dont know what to suggest. That guitar part really doesn't work with the rest of the song. I think you should rework that part if not removing it completely. That is my opinion.
It's just a tad unpolished. Go over it again and add more instruments and trip it out. Dont worry about losing the original sound. A more complex sound would be better in this song. Work on teh details. Ayuh. That should add a couple stars and make it more enjoyable.
