You're too hard on yourself. There's nothing wrong with your tones and levels. It's just very central. Apply some panning. High cut the rhythm, low cut the lead, they will not compete for room.
But yea, it's fine, your lines are fine. Just pan and eq.
Shred it! This does sound like it would be perfect for a 3D remake
