I tend to go for 88 bpm but often do so out of the limitation of the program I use which only allows for a maximum of 128 bars per song and 64 patterns per channel. However, I can still so much within those limitations. It's why I keep using beepbox; the limitations aren't so much of limitations as they are a challenge for me to work around in unique ways. As per usual, what you hear is what would be possible for a Sega Genesis or possibly a PC-98 since it's just frequency modulation and modified white noise for percussion (I could use FM for percussion too, but that sacrifices space for melodies or embellishments).
