As promised I'd be doing samples from time to time during and until the A.I.M. Deadline which will end on June 17th. This is a sample version of Dragon Pirates by Tut Tut Child. He's one of my favorite artists and thus far the only one I know who has an obsession with phasers in pretty much every single one of his songs. He uses a lot of saw structures as well as phasing during his chorus and uprising parts. This divides each lead and bass into two separate pieces and gives off a crisp sound to his music. I tried to duplicate something similar or close to what he does. I use FL Studio for all my music to start off. To duplicate this you need to use specific saws and resonant sounds for your channels. The song is made in a 1/6 snap piano roll but kept drums and bassline at 4/4 time measures. First I worked with getting the main lead part for the song which required listening to the actual song over and over again to get it right. Next I had to find and match the same sounds being used for the song. The beginning I chose an accordion sound from Morphine and tweaked it to sound less abrasive and more subtle for the beginning. For both saw leads I used Sytus one using Hypersaw and the other using Conqueror which were mixed and mastered a bit as to not overpower one another. Last but not least I used Sytrus to get some background bass using Digi preset. The drums were basic from the channel playlist but also using the FPC to get the snare, hats, and cymbals.
