First song ever. Made with ACID 5. An attempt to start learning the program.

You probably wont read this

you probabaly wont read this because this particular submission is so old, but i think the song is pretty good, but maybe thats just because in into this kind of thing, slow, repetitive, and whatnot. but anways, this song is alright, not great, but not too bad.

Valtrix responds:

I noticed it because I check my audio submissions sheet now and then to look for new reviews. Thanks, this was my first attempt at putting anything together. I got some things from a friend and tried working off that. Glad he sent it to me, because it got me motivated to start working on music :D

ACID, huh?

I like this better than the Lost Church piece, honestly. Reminds me of the music from the first Age of Empires game. Though the vocal-sounding instrument would be out of place there. Anyway, well done.

A few things about both composition and the NG audio portal. If ACID is the only composition program you have, you will inevitably find it constricting soon. You can get a free sequencer from noteworthy. Google them if you don't already have a sequencer. It sounds like you are knowledgable about music in general, so there are very few obstacles left to conquer. Also, it looks like you are taking some time between submissions. I never got a lot of buzz back when I was actively contributing here, but I do know that traffic is what gets you noticed and what gets you reviews. Submitting a new 'piece' every day or two, then tossing in the big pieces you really want recognition for is a good system. The oodles of people coming to check out the many pieces you've contributed are bound to stumble across the things you really put your all into, even if they have to wade through a few extras first. If you look through my oldest things, you'll see there's a lot of useless crap. But every now and then, there's something worth noticing.

That said, good luck. And get to work......:-P

Valtrix responds:

Thanks again for the review. Obviously I've been working with FL more, as I found ACID didn't really seem to be working for what I wanted it to. What I've made so far has been some work getting used to the programs, so I've been trying to get better that way. I don't know if I can churn our a song every day or two, but I'll definitely try to create things a littel faster. I need to work a lot on my arranging of sounds. When there's so much to do, it's hard to decide what to spend a lot of time on. Hopefully I can start making some things worth listening to!
