Well, here's after a year of practice on Dobro with mostly no musical training. I learned the G scale, but other wise have just been experimenting with finger pattern picking, pull offs, and most recently a bit of bar mute to make it walk without actually learning how to 'Travis' pick. The lack of timing comes from playing alone. I haven't found anyone local that wants to play melancholy arabesque jazz on a 'bluegrass' set. I Drop it plenty, but I find creative ways out. I need more people without a doubt
