This actually came from the instrumental thing I did earlier!
I liked the kinda bluesy/rock pattern and it kinda reminded me of Zeppelin a bit. So, I've uploaded the intro and first verse to see what you guys think.
It's still in the creation phase so don't mind the little f-ups.....
Second upload with a sort of solo and a second verse.....a little bit tighter for the rhythm section..lol
Still work to do...enjoy!

Shimmy Shimmy Quake
V1
Don't you leave me all alone
With that freak that looks at me
He wants more than a handshake
He wants to do the shimmy shimmy quake

I'm not going to quake,no,no,no,no,no!
No shimmy shimmy quake

Solo...

V2
Rub that spot and get me hard
All that work will be lost
Be lost, if that shimmy shimmy quake
If shimmy shimmy quake gets lost

And I go to grave with what I know
The shimmy shimmy quake!

Fade out.... working on the rest...

I like the instrumentation. The beat doesn’t sound quantized very well, as the different tracks don’t always sync up neatly. It’s especially noticeable in the crashes at around :10. Sometimes the vocals sound a little overly strained, but the lyrics are fun. The chord progression is a tad generic, but I like the solo at 1:18 - it helps keep the texture engaging. I like the production quality overall, but sometimes the panning is a little heavy for my tastes. The vocals don’t come through that clearly at 1:55, and the volume levels (especially of the vocals) oscillate quite a bit throughout the piece, which can be a little jarring. I like the passion and intensity of the guitar solos, but I thought you could’ve had a more creative ending than a fade-out. Overall, you’re clearly a talented guitarist and you bring a lot of feeling to your music, but the texture and mix need a lot of tightening - both rhythmically and harmonically. Keep at it, Johnnyq1233! :)

See.. that's the problem. Soo many musicians are on the computers and using all the tools available! Auto tune, auto time, automatic quantization, beat slicing tools and soo much pitch corrections!
Why not have a straight up 8 competition, where you got 8 tracks and you are not allowed to use any computer alterations.
If this is a truely music oriented site, then you should have a straight up analog recording comp for us old guys that don't use any fuckin computer magic.

Shut off your computers and just listen!!! the music is all you need!

The singing was not very good. Things you could work on, pitch, timing, and tone. Practice on that. 😌 I can admire you for playing chords on the guitar but you have no rhythm. It's completely off evey measure. To be honest and I don't really like sounding this way but you really need to work on rhythm. Use a Metronome. You can Google it and google will pop up a web based one. Sorry for the bad review but this is completely honest.

That is OK if you don't like my stuff. This wasn't about my work but about yours. You may make up excuses, but it doesn't sound good. Sorry to say.

johnnyq1233 responds:

This is a bit of a rip on Led Zeppelin..lol
I'm not a big fan of them. The fat and loose drums and the bluesy and loose timings... well that is part of that genre.
I did check out the stuff you have put out!
Not impressed! AT ALL!
