digimon is an anime,manga and game this song is season 1 butterfly the theme song it's pretty awesome you should watch it some time on youtube or foxkids or something

This is awesome, however I'd like to correct the man below me. Pocket Monsters has been around in Japan since the 80's as a book series, airing for the first time in North America in Canada in late 1999. Digimon was actually aired in March of 1999, proving to have come months before Pokemon (or Pocket Monsters). Digimon wasn't as popular though, so there are fierce debates on which came first.

digimon started out as a boys answer to tomagachi in japan by bandi. it soon sprung into other media like pokemon, it has been called a Pokemon knock off by the uninformed, mainly because of the similarity of the name. technically the name is not the same, it was made in japan where pokemon was called pocket monsters.
