Sup guys!

Did a quick remix of a Piano track taking the original from 120bpm to 140bpm, layering a second piano in certain sections, adding some funky beats and a few other instruments.

Turn around for this was about 6 hours. Entering a competition with it and found out about it yesterday, deadline is tonight but at this point, I can't do much else other than probably damage the track.

Struggle the most with getting it loud without killing the dynamics.

I work at around -10db, but need to get everything near enough to 0db, especially if people are downloading things and listening to them on their ipods or whatever. (edit: lol! wtf, who has ipods bruh it's 2019 xD)

This one does go to 0db, but the track itself hangs around -4db. Will have to look into it more in future, to try and get consistency across the various uploads. That's my final real block stopping me from really getting into the swing of uploading but I think I got the hang of it.

Mix the track well > Increase the volume via Parametric EQ > Maximus that shit with a limiter > Subtle boosts if necessary

Well anyway, enjoy guys and thanks for the reviews on my other recent track. Much appreciated!

Going to start getting these up on YouTube first but for now, Newgrounds gets an early taste of things :)

Actually damn excited to be back on this site, even though I'm nearly 30 now and was on here when I was 13!

Peace,

I think this is better than ABFH remix, as the melodies are mixed very nicely - this almost reminds me of a track by Cursed Snake, with the drums and all. Not much to recommend here, except for the fact that the whole track is a little quiet. You already said this in the descriptio. Also, the track ends kind of abruptly, like a part of it got removed during uploading or something. Is this a loop?Just make it louder, perhaps add a few more instruments than a piano and sax, etc. Overall, a very good track. Glad to see you trying new things other than dubstep.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Awesome feedback dude! Yeah, this one shaped out quite well. Need to figure out the volume stuff soon. Trying to learn the ropes with Maximus, but every time I up the bands, or compress it, it just sounds harsh. Trying to get a much cleaner sound than I used to but it's going to take some practise. This is the first track I made on my new speakers, with a better kitted out room vs the Logitech 30 quid gaming ones I used back in the day and things feel much clearer.

Unfortunately, I've got like 15 tracks or so sat here on my hard drive waiting for upload but now I'm stuck as to whether to upload, or which to upload, as they all don't sound quite as clean as I'd hoped when making them on my previous setup which had some M-Audios. Never took gear that seriously until really recent, so hopefully it'll pay off dividends.

The firestarters track was made over 2 days, spent 2 hours on one evening then a few hours the following afternoon tidying it up, so definitely off to a good start there. It's just a case of getting the volume right, and also figuring out how to clean my tracks without removing all the ambience, which is the trouble I'm having atm with this Zelda remix I'm trying to fix up and a that ABFH remix.

Thanks for checking out both tracks dude and the constructive feedback. I will have another look at the tail on this track and fit something a bit more of an outro rather than just cut it and look at boosting the volumes.

Now my question is what to do with the YouTube channel... definitely want to upload things on there, as I have some nice videos that match the content, with bits from Unreal Engine that I've picked up over the years, but the trouble with the audience there is I'm not sure if they are better served with 1 genre or multiple, or whether to present it as just a Trap Nation esque, upload style, or to get more personal and show behind the scenes, try and engage people etc.

Thinking the latter tbh, more fun but it's a case of figuring out a style and being consistent. Anyway dude, thanks for the review again, much appreciated!

Please send me any tracks you want reviewed. I go on review rampages early in the day to get ideas, give feedback and try to engage with people more than I used to so would be great :)

Peace

Man, high level chill, I absolutely love it :D

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Thanks for taking the time to check it out dude and awesome! :D

It's a solid beat, and the piano that plays those high notes are very subtle about halfway through, its a good touch. Nice work, especially in regards to the flow.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Thanks dude, much appreciated! I didn't want to take away from the main piano sections as the only piano vst I use atm is FL Keys, which is more of a supporting piano than a center stage one. Used that to subtly fills the gaps.

absolutely calming and chill track my friend, very good!

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Thanks you very much kind sir! Glad you enjoyed it too!

Your words are like marshmallows :D

really good! I love how you did this remix! Really loved the drop, it is so nice how it is Fast paced and chill at the same time! I hope you can win the competition,Deserves to win.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

No idea dude! At first, I saw the 120bpm and thought... oh shi**... I've never done 120bpm tbh! So quickly adjusted it to 140bpm where it's more comfortable and got busy :)

Glad you enjoyed it and win or lose, I'm not fussed! Happy to be on here, getting lovely reviews and getting involved in music again!

Thanks for such a speedy review, appreciate it muchos!
