Synthpop? Dubstep? Epicstep? Dunno...

So the title has little to do with the so-called genre of this track. Laborwave is a leftist meme that takes anti-capitalist genre vaporwave, and make it even more Red and Black. Which was the original intention but it become kinda something else. Still the same idea.

But let's focus on why I made this track.

This was a very long project. Super duper long and took a lot of work. However I didn't have time to work on, I only have like 3-4 hours everyday to work on it. I'm working overtime, illness, and family problems. But I got the base for this track about 2 weeks ago.

This took totally 2 weeks time to make.

Chopped-and-screwed is nothing new in my production. The furthest example that I used was last year's NGUAC track Great Commune Of Planet Earth. But I wasn't get it quite right.

What I developed was a way to humanize chopped-and-screwed samples. What I did was to record patterns on normal BPM, says 130, then slow it down to 60 or 65, and apply convolution over it. Why convolution? Problem with digital reverb is that samples might get blurred unevenly. I didn't want it to be blurred, so I used Kontakt-based IRs, modified them, then reapply over the samples.

Majority of these samples you heard in here was utilized with chopped-and-screwed.

I'll post a detailed tutorial on Audio forum sometime next week.
