So, I changed up the original song quite a bit for this version. The original song has a lot of buildup, and what I did for this version is take all the melodies that only appear later in the buildup (the string sections, the contrabass, the backup vocals, etc...) and build up a song around them instead. Then I started to build melodies and drum beats around those new arrangements, and to top everything off I sped up the original stems by 2 semitones to give it a much faster pace. This was a pretty fun project, I hope you like it!

Badass judge here. Before I begin (like I would say to every participants here) I would like to say that my opinion could be very personal to you. I’ve scored everyone as objective as possible, but my personal opinions have to be included. So please be advised.

Good start there. Pretty decent start as compared to the original song, but still. Unfortunately I didn’t liked that riser in 0:16. It’s chiptune, I got it. But it was kinda distracting for me in my opinion. After that it was not bad. Good instruments choices, various melodies keeping you from getting disturbed, and the tone itself was good, so emotion points will rise up from there. Nice job. Pretty smooth structure as well. Overall it was a pretty decent song without vocals (which I was expecting to pop up from somewhere at least once), so unfortunately lower scores on that. Also the ending needs more mixing, I think the lead is too loud.

But I enjoyed it overall, good job on it. Best of luck on your submission.

This is an ABFH remix contest judge review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It felt bright, and cheerful, and happy all the way throughout. The chiptune was so well placed, even with the strings and other things that you borrowed from the original. The main chiptune melody was singable, too, and that was the hook that drew me in.

My only complaint would be that some of the other melodies just dart around almost aimlessly; it feels as though they're trying hard to fit into the song.

I have no complaints with the mixing; everything has its proper place in here.

All the very best for the competition!

ABFH Judge Review/Comment:

This is really upbeat, which I think was a nice change from the overall tone of the original composition. ABFH is a bit of a lament, and I like how you've turned it around to be more "excitement at returning".

I'll be upfront that chiptune is a bit beyond me so I'm not sure what to suggest for improvements. Overall, I enjoyed it, and wish you success!

Gosh, I am a sucker for really well done chip-tune songs. Without the vocals in this mix, I can see it being used as an uplifting tune for a variety of situations in video games.

Listening to the full audio, did not hear anything that stood out to me as needing to be fixed or worked on which is great. :)

Best of luck in the contest!
