Pretty haunting riff at the beginning, even if the choir doesn’t sound very authentic. The drum work is pretty admirable. The rhythm is really creative, and the heavy use of the ride cymbal was a nice touch. The slap bass serves as an additional quirk to the texture. Really eclectic sound design here. The piece takes a while to develop harmonically, though, and I was a little thrown off when the choir suddenly dropped out at :52. After a while, I didn’t really understand where the piece was going very well. There’s very little harmonic depth here, and while the sound design and rhythmic content are good, they don’t quite make up for the lack-luster compositional elements. Even the ending felt rushed. Overall, I’d say there are a lot of fun riffs and patterns, but I’d like to see you do more with them from an overarching structural standpoint. Keep at it, MoonLordress!
