Before I talk about this piece, I want to mention that this is part of the very first CHIPS month compo, which is basically a CHIPS compo where you have a month to submit a song, and then a week to judge others' songs. This came tied for fifth overall with another piece by Zechnition called Comfy Nighttime (EDIT: he uploaded it here to NG so check it out because it honestly is a really neat song https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/835717 ), and got first in the categories of uniqueness and emotion. If you haven't been to CHIPS yet, I suggest joining, especially since we are doing a secret santa for Christmas, and if you sign up before December 9th, you may have the chance to make me a gift ;)
So about this: when I started, I had remembered something I had heard once, that autumn is the time to reflect upon ourselves from the past year. With all that had went on this year, I imagined how autumn would be for someone who had lost someone dear to him. To cope with the loss, the man had walked down to a nearby forest, where the river still flows and calls her name. Everything was all in place, except for one certain person: the one he loves dear, his own daughter who never grew to enjoy the world beyond his.
