Holophonic audio recording of birds of the hamilton escarpment by Chronamut/IoTheEternal

Holophonic is 3d audio - so you will hear birds behind you in front of you above and below you and to the left and right of you. You don't need any special setup to hear it - it works by subtracting the headspace and calculating the distance away from your ears sounds are. This is a very relaxing tune and if played on speakers will actually sound like the birds are chirping outside :)

This is just amazing. It really makes you think that birds are around you. A really cool special effect.

IoTheEternal responds:

Thanks man - yeah most people are not even aware that holophonic stereo even exists ;)

thanks for the review! :)

So I was listening to this while taking a walk, and sometimes I just couldn't help the reflex of looking back to check if there is actually a bird there. I knew there wasn't, but my neck just insisted in turning.

This sounds very real, and the holophonic effect makes it quite a trip to listen. Listening to this actually raised a lot of questions in my head.

How did you add this holophonic effect? Did you use some sort of software?

Are this bird sounds real? Did you record them? Or are they some samples that you have arranged?

This would do very nice for some ambience sound, I'd definitely use it when throwing a garden tea party (what am I talking about? I don't even have a garden).

IoTheEternal responds:

this was recorded live along the hamilton escarpment using specialized hardware - everything you hear is exactly how I heard it as I strolled along :)

the echoes of the birds is the sound bouncing off the escarpment. And yes the birds are real :)

The holophonic effect replicates how you actually hear sound around you :)

thanks for the review!

Fantastic performance. I especially like the bassdrum and the overall percussion. I'd like it if you'd have extended the melody a bit though, more fleshed out you know?

Anyway, awesome mixdown and mastering too.

Be prepared for my remix.

(Cool ambient track :P)

IoTheEternal responds:

Yeahh next time I'll add toucans or something.. maybe a nice bass pelican. The hihat sparrows may have been a bit too high.

Next time I'll make it an hour.

And I shall await it with moistened lips.

(and lol thanks mang)

Thanks for the review!

This is the longest loop here on NG.
But, it was worth listening to all 15 minutes!
Great job!
It was nice and relaxing to listen to it :)

IoTheEternal responds:

I am glad you liked! Apparently nwegrounds screws up occasionally too - for one guy it showed my loop was over an hour long! Lol!

I am glad you enjoyed the hamilton bird experience :P

thanks for the review!

I ear it while i was on acid and sound gorgeous!!!

IoTheEternal responds:

thanks for the review!
