Here is another track I wrote for an original VG soundtrack album. All instrumentation was done with StudioOne's built in sound sets and plugins.
Let me know what you think about the mix, composition, what imagery comes to mind, what games it reminds you of, and if I should upload it as a loop instead.

Ending sequence. That's what comes to mind. A hero walking home from a long journey.
"Good days ahead"

Yes that would really fit with that type of scene in my head. It has a bit of that melancholic but hopeful feel to it, which I personally really like. I find it interesting how you work with motifs. You're using one building-block of music and using the other instrument to mimic what the lead instrument is doing, which makes it sound coherent.

This will be going on my mp3-player :-)

Ragekaje responds:

Thanks for the review!
Now that you mention it, it definitely has the tone of music that would play for a credits roll, final cutscene, etc. "Ending Sequence" is a perfect description!
I'm not familiar with motifs in music, so perhaps I stumbled into that one. I will have to research what motifs are and add that to my toolkit.
Early in my writing process, all I had was the main melody for the A section and the chords and drums to go with it. I had a friend take a look and she suggested doing a round with the melody, and it worked really well!
Thanks again for the listen and the review, it brings me joy knowing you liked it! :)

Really in love with this.
Great drum kit
It makes me thing in the past as well. A song that makes you remember.
I won't say i cried remembering, but... almost

Ragekaje responds:

Awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The drums were out of the box VST's that came with my DAW. I had to separate the drum kit into like 3 different kits: Snare from this one, Kick from that one, Cymbals from another, etc.
Lately, my music has been a combination of all the gaming music from my childhood combined with a taste of modern rock music, so it combines in this weird way that sounds a little cheesy but fun. :)
