Worked on this song for an entire day... I'm sure I could've taken it a bit further, but I ran out of steam lol. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this song, as it it may be the last song for Minty Bite Vol. 3!

Also wanted to use this for the Art Inspired Music contest 2018 - so here's my inspiration! - “Wired Judegment” by ThePsychoSheep

Official AIM Review!

Sweet riff in that intro. Hats are WAY too loud though. About 2 dB at least.

Feels like sweet southern heat on top of robots.

Only real detractor, mix is kinda muddy and feels a bit over FX'ed, especially reverb/delay. Lots of boxy low mids. Got some pretty sick solo sections in here I can't really say much about. Actually, I wish I had more to say. Drawing blanks from vibing a little too hard, haha.

Would have been stronger without that fade out. Could have gradually subtracted elements all the way down to our intro guitars, ended on the last note of that phrase, and had a little tail end reverb and I'd be happy.

Otherwise, slick piece!

VortexVisionz responds:

Thanks for the review! I definitely agree with everything.. I probably should’ve worked on the sound production a bit more, but then again I only made the song in a few hours lol

Sounds very cool

VortexVisionz responds:

Thank you!

---Official AIM review---

I like the subtle fade-in at the beginning and the crisp beat that comes in at around :10. Really catchy piece. The transition at :30 could’ve been stronger. The drum fill there that serves as a transition is really subtle. Bringing it out more could help make that moment of the sudden heavy guitar entrance a little less jarring for the listener. I also thought the drums could’ve been stronger once the texture gets a little busier. Some more compression could really go a long way there. The melodic content at :59 is really good, though. This piece has a really interesting structure, but an odd drone-like quality. I think you need to work on smoothing over your transitions as a priority. One thing I really like about this piece is that it feels really dynamic given the loosely related solo sections, yet underlying the texture is a repetitive riff that still makes the piece feel cohesive. Really creative way of finding a balance between repetition and variety there. I didn’t think that fade-out ending added much to the piece, though; made it a bit underwhelming. The melodic content, atmosphere, and structuring go a long way with this one. Strong work overall!

8.25/10
