So recently I uploaded this under the title "A Hero's Journey" to Chips and got some positive feedback, so I figured people here would enjoy it.
The idea behind this song was the concept of a minstrel or bard. The flute was supposed to portray the storyteller. As the flute plays, the song develops a different feel, which is meant to transfer the listener into the time when the story took place.
There's a lot more to the story, but I like to leave it up to your imaginations.
(Also I'm uploading it a few hours early here, so don't tell anyone.)
Definitely very cinematic feel. It's like the opening theme of either a game or cartoon. Definitely sounds like a heroes journey montage. Transitions aren't the cleanest but to be honest I wouldn't have it any other way. It's an adventure after all so some things have to jumble together. I really like the diverse amount of instruments you used. It gives a lot of texture.
