The last survivor. He does not realize it now, but the sleeping child on board this singular pod is the final person that survived after the explosion of his planet, lucky to be supplied and launched by his parents while he was still sleeping in the night. Now he floats through the depths of space, unaware, in his own fantasies, until… he wakes from his slumber.
SINKING - 1:50
He looks around, soaking in the new surroundings that were vastly contrasting from last night, and wonders where his friends are, his neighbors… his parents. He looks outside the window of the pod to find that… he is not in his planet. He is in space, in a pod, with no method to get home.
DESPAIR - 3:13
So, he does the only thing he can do: wait. Days and weeks mesh together like clay, and eventually the child loses time, but what he really cared about is his home. What would people think of him? He felt alone, hopeless, lingering for his home...
PERSISTS - 5:43
when… yes! It’s a planet! It could even be his home! The child waited eagerly to arrive to the green-looking planet that looked like his home, until the pod broke the atmosphere, falling through like a stone, flaming and burning, pressing the child to the walls, until… the parachute was activated, and the pad slowed, slightly, more, until it hit the ground. The child opened the pod door… but he knew that this was not his home. The grass was not the same, the breeze was not as gentle… and nobody came. All this waiting, all this pain, only to find this place, and he did not know how to get out.
ACCEPTANCE - 8:53
But, the child thought, if there was anything close to my home, it was this. So, he accepted fate, and built a life anew on this planet, hoping one day to reunite with his planet, his friends… and his family.
