So this is my project of today, this is called "Just Not True", which is a rockish pop song with a kind of practiced vocal, which I wrote and recorded this afternoon. It has healthy amounts of bass and a nice balance of dance/EDM style sounds. This is a rough mixdown of this new project, I may do a remaster of this depending on how well it goes down on NewGrounds, YouTube and Soundcloud. I have been really having a play around with older chord sequences of my older songs, and this is what I came up with at this moment of time. I hope you enjoy this craftish song which shows how I am getting on. This was recorded and encoded using my new DigiDesign 002 sound card, which I bought in the last few days. It gives mea much better scope of sound, so my mixing should improve over time, and be able to use the extra bass effects using my new subwoofer to my advantage.

I may at some point re-do the vocals, which I may actually practice for potiential live usage. Even though I may not actually use this as part of this years tour (which is starting in May).

On this track I mainly used Vanguard, Serum for additional bass and pikes, Kontakt 5 for a super saw bass (which is one of my favoutite sounds at this moment of time), Groove agent for a kick sound (I don't use Groove Agent that often now as I mainly use a mixture of Xpand 2! and EZDrummer), I did also use EZDrummer for Hi-Hats and Snare's and finally I used Hypnotic Dance for the main pulsed dance pike.

This was processed and all the other faff, in Cubase 8.5 and was kind of lightly mastered in WaveLab.

The next project will use parts of sounds in Pro-Tools, but I will see how it goes, as It costs a bit of money to get the Pro-Tools 12 LE license and as I am currently upgrading to 4.1 surround sound at the moment, I don't have the additional money to do so (It costs about £21 a month for the renewable license and around £300 for the whole year for the slightly better version, If I get access to Pro-Tools, I can use my DigiDesign 002 as a Racked Core and use its additional DSP capability, but I may have issues as the sound card I just bought didn't come with the manual and subsequently didn't have the serial number to activate it within the software. If I do, do this: I will make stems and much more audio to mix and master in Pro-Tools, as its encoding seems to have a much better sound than Cubase (but I am going off experience of over a decade ago, and this maybe different now as Cubase has got much better in the mean time).
