Computer demo. This was my attempt at making something that sounded jazzy, even though I'm not really big on jazz.

I'm feeling blues more than jazz for some reason. Like some weird in-between. It's a bit swingy.

I'm also not liking that thick low-mid on the keys. Sounds like everything is too close together, really. Some chord inversion may fix those issues -- and maybe paring down the voicing a bit. I know jazz loves to pile on the weird notes, but usually not super thick, if you get my meaning.

Chord progression also felt like it stayed in mostly the same place. Jazz loves to move around to all sorts of new colors. So I would probably classify this as more modern swing/lounge.

Not bad though!

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you brought up the low-mid on the keys, I can see why that'd sound worse. In retrospect lounge would definitely be a better descriptor for this than jazz.

A really nice tune but... really not that much like what I'd consider jazz. The swing groove is definitely there, and the piano, but maybe in keeping such a fast and steady pace it doesn't have that improvisational style that jazz usually does. It feels like... well I don't know what it reminds me of, but like something in an old Knight movie, or background music in a pompous cruise ship diner, though with a bit of a comedy tone in the first half... when the brass chimes in towards the end it gets really nostalgic though. Just that little bit... I can't place it, but it's memory-heavy. Ties in to a lot of feeling. I wish more of the track was like that final bit.. maybe kept on going a bit longer, and growing. It feels like it really has potential to build! But anyhow: nice work. This really turned into something special.
