T-Logic - Zenith of the Second Sun

This project was made in April 2018 in Logic Pro X. I made a couple of riffs (the guitar synth one at the very beginning and then the one at ), and spent an entire song connecting them harmonically. One of the main characteristics that was required for this track (I made it for a class) was the structural elements. It's in binary form, with a distinct A and B section that each repeat twice, give or take some liberties. I didn't spend much time on it overall, unfortunately - maybe 10 hours - but I was anxious to upload something after about 6 weeks of inactivity on NG. :3 Hope you enjoy!

You got some weird shit, but i like weird shit so i can dig it, i like your melody, and the parts were the organ stands out

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks a lot for the review! I like weird shit too. :) I'm especially glad you liked the instrumentation and melody. Thanks again!

Oh cool, I can tell that this track is quite unique. i only hear things like this in old uptown funky type games. I liike the atmosphere it gives off as well as the guitars and synths you use, Im still quite suprised this was made in Logic Pro X, as its know for not being as good as other daws. still an amazing trakc :)

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks a lot for the review! I did indeed make it with video games in mind. Glad you like the atmosphere and instrumentation too. Thanks again.

Damn. Really chilled with this track.

Love the vibes and synthwave-ish atmosphere. Sounds do well together too, and it's pretty unique.
I really dig the perc sound overall and little things like that 0:56 break. Top notch.

But, I feel like there were some problems with transitions.
I'd love the transition part to be louder overall and have neat atmosphere as the main section has.
Maybe adding some automation which alters the sound would help, along with adding more stuff into it. Feels empty at some points.
Also didn't like that reintroduction of the main synth at 1:43.
Maybe if there was some kind of total break there would be more impact.

Overall, your piece is really enjoyable and so freakin' chilly.
Although I already said that I feel something's missing I think you did a really good job.
Keep it up. :]

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks so much for the review! I'm really glad you like the atmosphere and percussion, and I agree with you on the rather lazy transitions. The reintroduction of the main synth at 1:43 was meant to maintain some structural repetition in the piece, but I acknowledge that it's also not the most pleasing progression. Thanks again for listening to my piece so in-depth. ^_^

This is really relaxing. I like the unconventional sound design. Nothing feels out of place despite the apparent random selection of instruments. The percussion is very interesting; I'm not sure what some of those light percussion samples are, but they're pretty neat!

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks so much for the review, BO! I don't know exactly what you mean by "light percussion," but I did put a rather thin-sounding high tom in there to add some texture. Thanks again! Good to see you still make it onto the Grounds in the midst of all this CHIPS madness. ;)
