Sounds like ephixa :D good hardstyle song
I never realized that there was so much that went into mixing! I usually just get the basses out of the way of the snare, and the fx out of the way of the synths, and then I just export the song, but this time, mixing more purposefully made a rather drastic improvement. Tell me what you think!
P.S.: I'm going to start uploading samples and presets that I use. I'll put the Google Drive link in the "cool stuff" part of my news posts. :p For now, here's the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Cl0cuYsil77sWnZ77bWBJNfwuBSSLjGw?usp=sharing
EDIT: The link is broken. Check my "Cool Stuff" in my news post sometime soon, my stuff will be there.

I don't know what "ephixa" is, but I guess it's got to sound like this then. Lol.
Everything about this song is absolutely great. I found nothing wrong in the mixing and the sounds are perfect!
Why the 3.5 stars? I have this thing about songs sounding semi-generic. While I love the style, it is kind of overused. It sounds cool, but not particularly original. That is all. Again, it sounds amazing and 100% perfect, just not original.
At this point, unoriginality is a badge of honor. If I can blend in with other pros, that's pretty awesome the way I see it. I'l work on my style, but for now, thanks for the review. xD
I mean it when I say mixing has very much improved. But still a lot of the parts in this are, "empty" in a way. And the sounds feel... cliche in a way. The trap fusion at the end was, ok i guess, though the transition was good. Overall, pretty decent!
Lol, thanks!
EDIT: I think it sounds kind of empty because I was harsh on the resonant frequencies, except taking out everything that sounds resonant takes out the grime on the dubstep basses. I've picked up on that, and I'm adjusting my mixing accordingly. Thanks. xD
HOLY SHIT!!!!!
totally screwed at 1:29 thru to 2:15
get rid of that segment and do 2:15 from where 1:29 finishes
Tom Fulp & me are watching...
Do it or be damned!
:)
Hm......
huh....
First of all, please don't swear here. I don't really care what you do elsewhere, but I'd prefer if you didn't swear around me. :p
As for Tom Fulp, my hunch is that he isn't watching too closely. Maybe, but I doubt it.
As for your thought that the entire middle section just be removed, that's not the typical structure of a dubstep song (unless you were already familiar with that, in which case, uh... sorry? xD) In my opinion, I think that having two separate drops makes the track sound more professional, directed, and overall, more normal for a dubstep song. Plus, going straight from dubstep to hybrid trap would be, uh.... jarring, to say the least. xD
Thank you for your review, nonetheless. The enthusiasm is appreciated... xD
Love it!
Thanks! :p
