Sorry I was gone for so long. I had a HUGE case of writer's block. I'm probably going to change my name to Hedrix, So be on the lookout for that.

the keelhaul key theme is actually one of the themes in ttyd i've never been big on (mainly just the melody and feeling it gets repetitive quick, which may be more a fault of the gameplay in the area itself than the music to be fair !), but this remix gives it such a funky spin! it has such a nice beat to it and i love that rising and lowering instrument that kind of breathes in a spooky and foreboding feel to it (which is really appropriate!), something the original track's equivalent didn't. that version's just gives me more of a wild jungle vibe, which is obviously appropriate and all, but i'm a bigger fan of that spooky energy that fits more with the 'cursed island' aspect !

that funky beat gave me the image of something like flavio's crew having set up a cool little pirate bar-hut in the camp area the first time i listened, but i think just focusing on that would do a slight disservice to that foreboding energy that matches the actual context of keelhaul key so well! you did an awesome job on this, and it's a fresh take on a theme i never thought i liked which stands on its own with an energy i honestly kind of prefer while helping me appreciate the original in a way all my years of knowing it hadn't!
