It has been a little while, so I thought I'd record a little improvisation. It's not my most creative work by any means. I'm using some patterns I'm already quite faimilar with, at certain points. Even so, it's fairly smooth, and I think it sounds pretty neat :)

Whew! It's about time I check out some of your personal work again. This is beautiful, of course. I especially like the suddenly tranquil mood at 1:07 and the contrast between the ascending and descending lines, both of which you feature a lot in the piece (beginning, 1:02, 1:32, 4:12, etc.). I also thought the call-and-response technique you use at around 2:10 was excellent. The spacious melodies at 3:15 are another highlight. The more energetic section at around 4:00 helped give the piece a "last hurrah," so-to-speak. I was a little thrown off when you cut off the chord at 5:42. I always think it sounds more conclusive if you let it ring, especially in a relatively spacious piece like this one. I also don't think you thought through the piece thematically quite as much as with some of your other improvs, but it's hard to say that detracted from my enjoyment of it. I'm always impressed with your improvs, Ale, and this is no exception. Great work! :)

I like 1:07 too, just happened by accident, as most things in this improv :D
This one is more major based than most of my other music, so that might be a refreshing fact :)
The call-response thing isone of the most common techniques that almost never goes wrong. Kind of like descending basslines!
As for the ending cutting of, I get what you mean. At the same time, it's just a realistic element there to show it's a performance. I didn't hold down the pedal anymore, and raised my fingers :p
I'm more unhappy about the chord I decided to end with, as that's the natural choice, and I should've done something more unexpected xD
Nice catch with the lack of a theme. For some improvs, I start with a simple theme or idea. For this one, I really just played whatever, from start to finish; no planning.

I have a lot to say!... but to make it short. BEST...IMPROV... EVER!!! I don't really feel like making a long comment about it, but I do have a lot of great stuff to say about so, best improve ever mate :D

I think that's just a normal F# (or Gb) dim, diminished chord. Aka, start with any note, and go up three semitones for the next note. Keep doing it and you have that almost horror style diminished chord :D

For being an improv, this certainly doesn't sound very improvisational! But that's just your talent shining through, manipulating those eighty-eight black and white keys the way you do...
While the bluesy section near the end probably sounds the most telling as an actual improv, it's also one of my favorites because it's got such personality and soul. Which is really saying something since the entire piece from start to finish is wildly engaging.

I'm still constantly trying to improve my piano skills through the laziest means possible; just playing whatever until I learn :'D
While I still can't sight read sheet music, at least I've learnt to play just "whatever" somewhat decently by this point :3
I've been trying to learn to play that blues scale somewhat smoothly this summer. Like, not as a major project, but I've been thinking about my finger placement, and doing random rolls up and down every now and then while playing. Eventually, I'll have it properly in my repertoire!
