Ah ha! A serious track that isn't painful to listen to and is semi-enjoyable. I was worried the first song I heard from you reflected your current skill, but that notion appears to be incorrect!
OK, so I wish you used a different instrument for those chords in the intro. I also wish those cute little sine hits were just a tad louder. I was honestly expecting the first drumbeat to be a breakbeat for some reason, not taking off stars for that or anything. I kind of wish the sidechain was more present throughout the song. The part at 0:11 drags on for an unnecessarily long about of time. That transition to the.. drop? verse? chorus? yeah, chorus. That transition to the chorus was really weird. A reverse cymbal going into the main chorus may help with that. That electric guitar lead is pretty neat. The chorus is fine, but like the part at 0:11, it drags on for a bit too long. It feels repetitive even though the guitar is playing different notes. I think this is because the rhythms are mostly the same or very similar. I like the synth you used at 1:36, sounds pretty neat.
Nice track. You are getting better, keep at it! 3/5 :)
Thank you! And I am grateful that you checked more than just one song, TBR wasn't anything serious or professional and shouldn't be considered as such. xD
I'm definitely still not professional by any means, and I'm sure you've recognized this by now, but I definitely appreciate that you took the time to write out constructive advice that I can actually use as I continue making songs. Thank you infinitely for writing an in-depth, high-quality review. :)
You have improved so much from your first song in the elemental series! From the beep-boops of the instrument you mainly used to this is just amazing. A tip I could give you right now is to master it a bit more so it doesn't have a "cluttery, staticy" noise (I have no idea how to describe it lol). Great song, and I will look forward towards the next element (I forgot the periodic table already)!
Thank you! :D
I actually have no idea how to master, so that might be an issue :p I'm still not entirely sure whether or not I've made big improvements on a small portion of music production, or if I've made small improvements on a bigger scale. It's interesting to think about. ;p
The base in the second part of the song sounds a bit too gritty, I think. The melodies overall could use a bit more extreme variation, I can hear the variation, but they still sound a bit similar. The instruments throughout the song are fairly good, but what you used for the last melody, at 1:53, should be smoother. It doesn't fit very well with the other instruments with that much 'oomph'. I'd suggest lowering it's volume a bit and adding a little bit more reverb, or if you already have reverb on it, making it a bit fuller. I'm pretty sure I heard some square pings sidechained throughout the song, but you need to make those slightly louder, it's like they're getting walked over by every other part of the song.
I love ur stuff sir!!! also I play gd check me out I'm andogd. I make music, too check it out
