Right off the bat, I really don't like that piano hammering on the same note. It's obviously synthy. When it drops out, it's also a little excessive feeling. What follows is some pretty lit DnB. This is the style I prefer, honestly. Sax and piano could have gone far, far, away during that drop, and I would have been very happy.

The writing and FX on the piano after are not bad by any means other than a little bit of corny synth business. The piano and sax just feel like they should be much less present in the drop and a lot more ethereal, panned around, or w/e as an effect rather than a center piece.

The more subdued verse is not bad by any means, and they don't stick out here. I had hoped for a 3rd drop. That bass though – a marvel. Superb. Rest needs fine-tuning.

dunno, in this type of music I don't even try to make real instruments sound "humany", it gets lost in the master compression anyway

and piano and sax are really part of the main drop groove, couldn't be very ethereal

The piano and atmospheric synth mesh well together, but I really would’ve liked to see you craft a sense of direction into the first 30 seconds of this piece before the minimalistic drop strikes at :28. You have a good sense of harmony and structure, although I think you needed some more phrasing here. The breakdown at 1:09 with the echo-y piano was enjoyable. The mix is clean as well. My main problem here is that I think you should flesh out the structure more and give this piece some shape. Right now, there are a lot of transitions that rely on drum fills or stop-start changes in energy. Especially for the intro, I think you could do a better job of warming the listener up to the drop and, subsequently, foreshadowing the piano part at 1:09 a bit more. The structure feels a bit overly calculated in that way. That said, the mixing is strong, and I loved the atmosphere and mood of the piece. Keep it up, 5TanLey! :)

That bass is so edgy tho. I really like what you did, and it was executed fairly well! I wish you used a more realistic sax though. Also, some of the sax parts have a bit of clipping. This track is also pretty repetitive. Still, great track! 4.5/5, GL in the NGADM

Also, you were in my group in the NGUAC, sorry you didn't make it lol (pretty sure this isnt what you entered though)

I made velocity of the sax a bit more random during the break and outro, but in the drops it got so lost.. I kinda compressed the hell out of this tune.. thanks for the comment :)

pretty amazing sound design with the bass and great mix, but i dont think that the sax fits all so well. it might be a mixing thing, it seems out of tune at some points tho. (2:09)

I wouldn't have went with sax personally. I feel like this bass sounds a lot like seemlessR's work, but that may be because he uses a lot of Harmor.
