I started this song and I already loved it LOVE the mixture of the DOOM songs. Keep it up!
Welp, it's been a year since I've really posted anything. So I guess I've gotta start this dump sometime... And today's that day.
This is a medly of as many doom songs as I can remember from Dooms 1 & 2.
Most songs from the original Doom games are actually ripoffs of other popular thrash metal songs from the era, so I just took the main themes and mashed them together. It's actually pretty surprising how many of these melodies work together without any additional modification required. I had a taste of this when making the other Doom cover I had going on, but that would only layer 2 parts together. This song goes through 13 or 14 different recognizable melodies that can all be interchanged.
I also thought it would be fun to keep it light and playful with the drums & instrumentation. The 2016 Doom game did such a fantastic job of recreating the music in a heavy, industrial and speed metal way I could never imagine trying to follow that up.

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you liked it!
I know I already said before, but I like the mix, it's a fun listen. While the piano is still a highlight for me, I think my favorite part would be the 1:00 - 1:24 bit, great stuff there. I also never knew that about the original Doom music, interesting that that's how it came to be.
Doom is a very interesting story overall, I'm kind of... obsessed with it. Mmmm... John Romero....
O_O ANYWAY Thanks a bunch again for "playtesting" some of my songs, I'm giving that cell theme a pretty thorough rework since I've heard from a few people now and I want to try and make it as good as I possibly can.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
