Very excited for this competition :) Best of luck to everyone involved and can't wait to hear all the submissions!

This song is from my upcoming second album, "All Outta Wulongs". It is a Cowboy Bebop inspired BeatTape set to release in mid June. Enjoy!

I like the ambient effects at the beginning, and how they slowly melt into the pads and piano. Nice use of vocal samples too. The energy by around :45 is great, and the texture is really refreshing and bright. The drums are super crisp and clean, and everything sits pretty well in the mix. I especially enjoyed the slap bass and (rhodes?) at around 1:50. The atmosphere that comes back at 2:24 is enjoyable as well. Unfortunately, I think you could’ve fleshed out this piece a lot more structurally. I think it needed some more melodic content that wasn’t so fleeting. Perhaps the purpose of the piece is to capture a fleeting moment, though...hmm…...okay, I’m not going to take off too many points for the structural details, but in the future I really want you to show me that you can craft a strong and memorable melody. Solid piece, though. Keep at it, my friend! ;)

Thanks man; really appreciate the effort you guys put in to give us these reviews. You are right, the piece showcases bits of different melodies that are all very fleeting. The idea here was to have the different melodies mimic conversations that the protagonist was somewhat paying attention to as he moved through a crowded subway station. I'm sure it will help in the future if I give some more backstory to the songs. I will attempt to make a song with a much more memorable melody for the next round!

Great track dude. The track really carries a lot of energy, the piano action was enjoyable and the japanese subway background sounds with the ambient elements very interesting IMO for the overall feel. Keep up the good work!
