NGADM2017- Random Loud Loop

just made this weird piece for an audio forum competition going on.

Points for a flawless loop and maintaining a coherent piece, but detracting those same points for such a short entry that doesn't give me much room at all to ponder composition. There's nothing that really sticks out to me beyond the industrial percussion. Short chord progression does resolve, but there's virtually no other melodic content, and the piece feels very much unmoving. Good sense of meter. Otherwise unremarkable.

Keep banging out tunes though, for sure!

The instrumentation is very harsh and industrial. You have a good sense of rhythm, but the piece is very distorted and seems pretty directionless. The bass synth and higher-frequency arpeggios that come in later struck me as especially cheesy and generic. The piece has no melodic content whatsoever, and quite simply isn’t structurally complete. This is a little on the experimental side for the tastes of the NGADM, I believe. Sounds like a wonky videogame main screen tune...but it doesn’t really do you much service if your goal is to demonstrate that you have strong compositional skills. Sorry dude. I’d love to see you make a more melody-driven piece with a more measured structure. Keep at it!

Yo, you could make a good hiphop song derived from this and i'd totally rap over it, the bass and percussion especially is on point.
