I'd like to hear this played in an empty parking lot pumped up full speaker volume. Would be 5 stars but, haven't actually heard it live yet so

A good sense of rhythm and turntablism met with terrible recording quality, lack of melody, to the point it almost seems as if it's just sort of stumbling along in the childish land of noise for noise's sake. I feel sorry for that poor vinyl.

The lack of melody and the repetitive drum beat without any substance, coupled with the lack of what would feel like cadence -- structure, is what really kills this piece for me. Now, if there had been better mixing, less distortion, perhaps I'd have given a better score.

I know not everyone can afford good equipment, but a half decent acoustic setup and digital processing would do you a lot of good. Nevertheless, don't let my criticism or score deter you from pursuing your craft. Keep throwing yourself at the wall until you break through it!

The lows on those vinyl scratches are a bit overpowering - sounds VERY in-your-face with headphones, which I don’t think you were going for. You have a good sense of rhythm, but this piece badly needs more structural variety and melodic content. The lack of variety and minimalism simply fails to keep my attention after awhile. I highly encourage you to try writing more melody-driven pieces. A good melody often has a stepwise component and a varied rhythm and contour. When you feel like you’ve written a piece with a strong melody, PM me and I’ll leave you another review. Good luck, man!
