This track was produced for the Chips 1 Competition.

The theme was Abandoned World. Here was my summary. :)
After 'The Wave' there was nothing left.

Human civilization was wiped out hundreds of years ago, swallowed by craters and natures revenge. Now it stands still, overgrown and lifeless. Like natures sick joke on the ambitious. The search party reach a safe zone which is also ruined, a desolated merge of metal and vine. However, this one is different as a light blinks in the distance. It holds a message for all.

The truth.

Nice to see you back at writing music. Your stuff is always amazing.

Thank you ToonDude10! ;)

Stellar work, man. Listening to it for the second time, I'm even more impressed. The atmosphere is very well-crafted, and the production quality is very high. I love the dissonance around the 2-minute mark coupled with that gorgeous string melody. The climactic part at 2:51 could've had more of a build-up, but the wave of sound that hits me is still an effective way of channeling the mood. The final minute or so had a strong emotional appeal too. Amazing work! Keep it up, dude. ^_^

EvilRaccoon responds:

Thankts TL! :D Really appreciate it.

Wowza! In just the past couple of years I've been hearing a massive evolution in your writing and production style, and I think this track even further solidifies how much you absolutely own at the hybrid/orchestral/cinematic soundscape. I first listened as a standalone piece and was already impressed, then I listened in context with the images and synopsis provided for the contest and was blown away. There's an epic story conveyed throughout the highs and lows, as your sense of tension and release seamlessly weaves through the mixture of orchestra and sound design, creating a vivid image of a future world ravaged by nature. Each section of the piece plays a role in your world-building, and compliment each other like two lovers discovering their amazing chemistry. Your production quality is MASSIVE, and honestly I wish I could get my tunes to sound as huge as yours. Much love and respect.

Your sound design keeps my ears perked as it sustains my interest. I like the pedal drone underneath the piano, and it fits well as a film piece since it takes its time to progress. If it wasn't for your interesting production work, I would've said that this could have been done all in three minutes as opposed to six. I appreciate the tone of the piece and your choice not to go over the top like some music on steroids. But what I really wanted to comment on was that poignant chord change at 4:32-4:33 with that arrangement. ooohhh that's butter. And that's all I needed to hear.

EvilRaccoon responds:

Thank you very much Phonometrologist, I think you're absolutely right that the piece could have been nearly halved, there's just maybe a little too much build and not enough theme.

Your feedback has definitely been noted! Thank you! :)

Told y'all Peter gonna win. Well deserved place too.

Great work man. This is awesome.

EvilRaccoon responds:

lol! You did call it! You did extremely well with 'After Humanity' too! Number 4 with over 30 contestants! I'll hit you up with a review on your track.

You never know, we may meet in the NGADM, or Chips3 in the future! ;)
