Electronic - House

Author Comments

I made this song to be the theme of "Doctor Lekiam" from "OutKasted". They're a pretty good pal' of mine & they said they'd enjoy having this as their theme , so I'm going to show it to the rest of the world , or as much of the world as I can.
Not 100% sure if house , though I know it's electronic. :P
Please don't witch-hunt me if I got the sub-genre wrong.

I like the blissful mood at the beginning. The chord progression is a little cliche, and the instruments are a bit generic too - especially the pads - and the piano sounds pretty inauthentic. The piece is a little repetitive and slow to progress, and I also think you need some stronger melodic content. Arpeggios don’t quite cut it as melodies, I’m afraid. I’d also encourage you to experiment with methods of creating variety besides simply adding and subtracting instruments. More advanced methods of creating variety include filtering, changing dynamics, phrasing, and using risers/sweeps/drum fills. Speaking of drums, I think this piece would have a lot more drive and energy if it had some. Overall, you have some good ideas here, but the composition is a little lack-luster and the cliche instrumentation and progression detracts from my enjoyment of the piece. Keep at it, Fr34ksh0ww1ll0w. :)
