A short piece I wrote for Ludum Dare 38.

If you haven't heard the main one, listen to that one first: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/740988

in LD I like to write a song for before the bad stuff happens. i usually don't spend as much time on them because the player doesn't hear them for very long. :)

( ... looking for pitchbends in all the wrong places ... )

Oooo...the last two titles of your songs read like a conversation. I wasn't a big fan of that violin sample, though. Sounds especially fake during the section at :18. I also thought the pizzicatos at :33 overwhelm the piano melody too much. The melodies themselves are solid throughout, though. That loop could've been smoother, but for its purpose I think it works fine. Cute piece. You should do more classical stuff! ;)

Haha dang that violin is straight outta native instruments stuff. I thought it was ok. D: I guess I could humanize it or whatever...

I found this to be catchy even before it looped once! It sounds somewhat like a theme from a Zelda game, but Zelda songs don't have pianos with pitch bends. I wonder if you copied and pasted the violin midi into the piano channel. It sounds like a hybrid of a keyboard piano and guitar. I really enjoy it!

johnfn responds:

Hahahhaha yeah you got me. What can I say I was busy with the rest of my game :D

I find pitchbending piano to be hilarious because it's so impossible to do in real life. Unless you open up the piano and pull the strings i guess.
