YaboiMatoi - Chrono Persona

The name Chrono Persona actually came from my inspiration of writing a melody that was strongly inspired by Chrono Trigger. Which didn't happen because I decided to go balls out with the composition.

But what actually stayed the way it was supposed to was the main riff, which was inspired by "Reach Out to the Truth" from Persona 4. I couldn't get that slightly chromatic movement out of my head so I decided to implement it into this song, later making it the main motive of it.
I've also watched some videos by Keith Merrow, which I think also had an influence on the way I composed the riff.

The main idea was to create a loop.
And since I want to give myself a challenge with every piece I asked myself if it was possible to make a smooth transition on a "non-midi" instrument, which is the guitar for me.
I might have screwed up at the cutting of the sound though.
Sorry about that.

When I look back at my "Dance of the Decorous"-Cover, that I did for FamilyJules' fanmade soundtrack, I think 'Chrono Persona' has got a little bit more airy mix to it.

But I got my hands on Superior Drummer, which I used to make this! No more shitty midi-drumpoop!

Also stole the idea of church bells ringing during the breakdown from Jules' Wind Waker Medley. Sorry!
It was too good! :D

Hope you Enjoy!

Not usually a metal fan but wow this is great!

High energy all around, great melodies, great playing. The loop was very well executed. I have not played the game that this was inspired by but I might be interested in the future.

My only gripe was the drums were kinda quiet, but that's it

Good work!

YaboiMatoi responds:

Thanks a lot for Your comment!
I haven't played Persona 4 myself but I can guarantee You that Chrono Trigger is something worth checking out!

Also, thank you so much for mentioning how the drums sound to You.
Still trying to figure out the new drum program I got my hands on.

Dude! this is freaky!! I like it!!
your playing is really good, this track was awesome
I only wish you could better mix and master everything!! good job!

YaboiMatoi responds:

Thank you so much, man!
Yeah, I'm not the best at mixing. But I'm getting there! Mixing distorted guitars is such a pain though!
I'm still trying to find a good balance between rhythm and lead guitar since I've always liked this more trebly-scratchy rhythm crunch.
But thanks for pointing that out!
I know what I should work on more!

Thanks, Dude! :)
