Cool House track I made in a few days while I had some time. I gave it a little bit of a natural feel with the swing and guitar and added a synth to compliment the vibes. Hope you enjoy it! Please give me your feedback below, it really helps me improve!

Fun title. I like the relaxed mood and cute synths. I wasn’t a huge fan of the was the kick was mixed, though - the sample just has a bit too much treble for my tastes. It’s a very smooth and upbeat piece, though. I enjoyed the sense of catharsis at 1:06. With slightly different instrumentation, this piece would work really well as a pop song (which is a good thing, at least during auditions). It does get a little repetitive after awhile, especially at around 2:30. I don’t think it needed to be quite this long. You may have also overused the sweeps by the end. This piece’s simplicity is a blessing and a curse in a way. The texture fits the style really well - easygoing, carefree, etc. - in that it doesn’t sound too busy at any given time, but I think you still need a little more variety in here. Overall, pretty solid work. I hope you’ll get the chance to make something else for the competition. Keep at it, man! ;)

I have seen your response to the review regarding headphone use. Try to avoid mixing entirely on headphones (since an inaccurate level is often a result). You need to refer to a speaker system if possible (preferably monitors). The more devices you test the mix with, the better (do a car test if possible).

You can also throw in a popular track that is in a similar style to what you are producing so you can see where your mix can be improved in terms of levelling, etc.

The composition of this is quite solid, so keep that up. Just work on the mix :)

Best of luck in NGADM!

Sounds like a good track, by what little I could hear without the need to amplify it with my system by several factors. Upload a higher volume version please

GlitchmasterMusic responds:

Thanks, my headphones are too loud so I thought it would be too loud for others but I messed up I guess :P
