TigerM - TigerMvintage - Band T-808
*****

While working as
Secretary / Office Manager / Receptionist and Accountant weekly
at MGCM, his stepbrother's Music School and Music Conservatory,
Tiger was introduced to the Roland Boss DR-5 Rhythm Section...
and... often more than
eight hours a day producing arrangements...

Using the MIDI instruments on Roland's DR-5, in a single month,
Tiger would produce over 250 unique arrangements.” [some call them "beats!" ^^]

*****

This is the first time while sixteen I was motivated
from a local producer around my age in 2000 to embrace a
DR-5 Instrument Set I had been avoiding...
"I make beats too" I was told "Does it have an eight-o-eight?"
I also learned about "Quantize" that day ("Where is Quantize?" he asked.
I did not know...) and asked what "Quantize" was and
shared some of the music I had been making before his curious appearance.

He wanted to hear me make a beat [like THEN oo] on the DR-5
and so I began and after I started my composition he was called
and I learned he was applying to be a drum teacher and hired as
an instructor at the Music School where I worked in 2000 to 2002.

"Band T-808" is one of the compositions I composed and tune shared
to "impress" someone I had met (and would later impress other people)
as the "classic analog instrument set" I had learned about
(there is "808" which is often quoted in hip-hop and Fatboy Slim
made "Everybody Needs a 303" about new-to-me at the time "303" drum machine sound).
The DR-5 "808" is called "T-808" which I suppose (yet honestly am uncertain)
is because Roland has MIDI "Harmony Instruments" (analog horn notes I thought sounded like in Hexen)
that are part of the selectable composer's / producer's sound set.

I hope You enjoy "Band T-808" which is first track I share exclusively
from my third Cassette "Legendary" (*sarcastic* "wh~oooh" oo I know right... =B)
recorded in 2000 which consists of both new tracks I did as I recorded
alternative versions of my first songs and began naming them with
"Best version" in pen-and-ink writing on the cassette name tags.
"Legendary" is the first cassette I placed "best" versions on.

Band T-808 is the original recording and first performance on DR-5
I have produced and composed utilizing the "classic hip-hop" "808."
At sixteen I first learned an "808" is a "classic sound in hip-hop..." ['You know...']
(I didn't.)
[Digital renditions of the original 303 and 808 are now selectable in modern DAWs.]

I hope that You enjoy the original "Band T-808."
(I later compose a new 'part two' track--
"Band T-808: Second March." That's two cassettes later though.)

First day of "People of African Descent Month" and second cassette
completely online [previous month 2017] with third cassette from 2000
I exclusively composed, produced and recorded at sixteen sixteen years in the past.
(plus thirty-one-days minus seven months.)

Please enjoy as I intend to continue TPT16 [Tiger's Project 16]
throughout this year while sharing nostalgia, reminiscence and good
experiences from my first time recording as a music producer. =]
