Interesting mixture of cinematic and classic synth sounds. To be honest, I would have liked it more if you kept the vibes from that synth and went 4 on the floor. The sounds you bring in at around a minute thirty are kind of cheesy, but hey, you are doing way better than me when at this point in my production life! Keep up the work, I look forward from hearing from you.
Being a Wisconsin girl, I suppose there will always be some cheese in my work, lol. This is a WIP that I'm sure to return to later on and finish, so we'll see what happens with it. Thank you for the constructive thoughts! :)
Good stuff! I like where you are going with this. Nice sounds, nice progression. I feel like the intro might be too long, but that's just my preference. If it's the way you want it to be keep it. :) If you want it that long, but feel like it needs something you could create more tension and build it a little more so that when the drop hits is super satisfying.
I really like fat drums and I try and keep them loud in the mix. I think if you mixed your drums a little louder and/or used fatter, weightier sounds it would really life the energy of your song and make the drop more intense. However, if you are totally into and satisfied what you've got going on, don't listen to me. :)
Thank you! :) I always appreciate constructive critique on my work. I think too so long as a musician is reasonably secure with their own style of song-making, feedback from others and different points of view can be very helpful in the maturing process of creating.
As far as drums go, I do like to hit heavier on those too. Recently upgraded my music program though and so far having a bit of trouble finding what I want, but I'm sure that will change in time.
I find the beginning of this piece very nice. You left a very nice cliffhanger. The use of combinations of the sounds are good and i like the chords very much. But maybe harder drop? When you use that kind of beginning of a song, the drop can be more. Keep going, you are a very talented producer man :)
Thank you for your kind words! You're right, it will need more intensity and I've plans to turn up the heat on this song whenever I'm able to finish it. :) Thank you again! Also, I am a woman, hehe. ;P
I don't have time to leave a big review atm, but just wanted to let you know I enjoyed the listen :D
This would fit so nicely in a game or a movie!
Keep it up ;)
Thanks so much, LucidShadowDreamer! I'm always happy to receive a review from ya, whether lengthy or brief!^^
I really like this piece. I love the techno aspect of it and the tension build up in the beginning. It is very riveting and keeps you at the edge of your seat. The one problem I have with it is the ending. It just sorta leaves you hanging. If you found a way to wrap it up nicer and more smooth it would be close to a 5 probably a 4.5
Thank you for reviewing! =) Yeah this is a WIP at the moment, I probably should've included that in title and not just description, hehe.^^ It will definitely be longer and more polished in future! ;)
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
