The radio effect thing at the beginning was a little cheesy, but I like the cute mood and melodies that pop in at :16. The texture has a nice, warm sound, and the pads really help give the piece some flow. Perhaps I would’ve taken just a little more treble off of the melody synth, though. The bizarre effects you used to bookend the piece come back at 1:45, and tbh they didn’t quite work for me. They just felt a little jarring given the bright, pleasant, tonal music taking up most of the piece. Some drums could also help move the piece forward a bit...I think you’d be well-advised to flesh out the structure a little more. Right now the entire piece almost seems like a long, dreamy intro for something. The energy level and dynamics don’t change much throughout the piece. While it is short, it could certainly have a lot more emotion/drama if you were to experiment with giving it some more shape. That said, I didn’t observe any problems with the mixing, and I like the instruments you chose for the piece a lot. Keep at it, my friend! ;)
This is a really great piece that would fit perfectly into a JRPG! Just not too into the very start and end of the track, would of been better if it looped. STILL! You brought through some real emotion with the track and I like it :D
The main idea of the song was the idea of finding and booting up an old floppy disc to discover something wonderful only to have it break immediately after so that it could never be experienced again. Storytelling through music is a weird concept I'll try to make it not sound so abrasive next time, thanks for the input, glad you liked it.
The first time I heard this, I teared up. Geez, I still do. This is so emotional, it feels like this covers an important emotional scene. Geez....this is really touching <3 I love it. Also, the way the mix is, it's extremely addicting and sex to the ears, it hits the right spots. It's soft hits, and not ear piercing. That's amazing. Good job.
This is so chill. I love it! Just with it had some percussion.
I actually started this with percussion but really hated how cluttered it sounded, really wanted to make something clean/soft like a solo piano piece. Might re-release that version later tho.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
