2016 has been an interesting year, and much unfortunately, not always in a good way. But regardless, now it seems to be coming to an end. To celebrate it, I'm posting my most complex, and imo, also my best piano composition of the year. I've been working on this song on and off for a bit more than two months, which is longer than it usually takes. But I've also been more busy with studies than I usually am!

Either way, now the piece is finished, and this is my way of wrapping up the year. For once, I think I'll let you enjoy the music, instead of reading a long description here. If you want some additional information, you can read my longer description, on youtube.
Speaking of, you can watch me play instead of just listening, in case you feel like it:

That's all from me this year! Thank you for listening, and Happy New Year!

Wait until Phono listen to this one. I like this version better. Much better played and full of emotions. The piano sound is truly ear-candy. Excellent piece.

Happy New Year. Wish the best to you.

I'm glad that you've had yourself a listen though! Thank you for the lovely words, and for the best wishes!

I'm a bit late, but Happy New Year to you as well :D

I love this piano work. Evokes that romantic era faithfully. About halfway through I started feeling a little light jazz vibe with those chord progressions. Very inventive. It's not often I listen to a piano composition that makes me say that given how many centuries that instrument has had to evolve but I felt like this evoked a little inspiration from all over the time line.

It's a relatively short piece for piano but you took it to a lot of different places in that eight minutes. It kept my attention easily. I'm glad your happy about it. I'm also happy about it. Cheers LSD :D

I'm glad you like the piece!
I do tend to vary my pieces a fair amount, which is something I sometimes get complaints about. But on the other hand, it's nice whenever people appreciate that fact, like you are doing now :)
I get what you mean with the slight jazz feel! I'm actually working on a way more jazzy piece atm, which is quite rare for me.

I wonder if entirely new ways of playing the piano will come up in the future! I find that surprisingly, there are always new elements to be found with just these 88 keys, some of them more noticable than others. Ofc, there's a physical limit to what can be done, and another limit to what generally sounds good. But I think the instrument is far from dead, or even belonging to the past.

Thank you for your review! Always a pleasure to read them ^ ^

Y'know when I don't comment on your music, it's not because I don't like it. It's because I cant find any new good words to use for your amazing talent :) it's not surprising that I love it! it's great! :D Happy New Year mate

Happy New Year! Really good piece. I like the change of the pacing and the style variations very much. Good story telling through music :D, keep up the good work.

Thank you very much!
I agree that this piece can be pretty weird at points, but I don't mind that :D
I suppose there might be a few jazzy parts in the piece. Mainly though, I tried to go for a somewhat classic style :)

I had several inspirations for the piece, but indeed one of the intentions was to allow it to mark the end of the year.

Thanks again for the nice words! :D
